Brian Melsheimer, SRA
Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser
Brian grew up in Nevada County, graduating from Nevada Union High School. He attended Sonoma State University, earning a B.S. degree in Economics with an emphasis in Microeconomics and Econometrics.
Brian began as an appraisal trainee in 2003, becoming licensed in 2005. His passion and knack for the business grew and he worked his way to a Certified Residential Appraisal License in 2006. In the aftermath of the financial crisis, Sierra Nevada Appraisal Group was created. Brian returned to his roots to assist clients in the complex Nevada County market. His knowledge ranges from complex rural properties to gold rush-era Victorians and everything in between. Brian has been appraising complex properties for over 20 years and specializes in expert witness testimony, with extensive experience in wildfire litigation.
Brian holds the prestigious SRA designation by the Appraisal Institute. He is also a member of the Real Estate Appraisers Association and the National Association of Appraisers.
When he's not appraising, Brian enjoys hiking, distance running, spending time with his family, and getting smiles from his newborn daughter.
