How this Questionnaire Helps
In the case of wildfire disasters, the appraisal process can be very complex. Normally, an appraiser would conduct a thorough on-site inspection of a home or property to gather information in order to establish a value. However, when a home or property is damaged or destroyed, the appraiser must rely on alternate sources of information like this questionnaire. Other sources that an appraiser may use include previous listing information, previous appraisals, photos provided by the homeowner, other expert reports, tax assessor’s records, deeds, and other records. These sources of information are important to gain a better understanding of the home and to establish the basis for the appraisal.
